Meschers' Plage des Nonnes has a small sailing school - dinghies & catamarans.
St Georges de Didonne has a larger centre with windsurfing, kite surfing as well as land-yachting on the wide beach at low tide, as well as a forest adventure park for budding Tarzans.
Your children can learn to surf at Pontaillac (Royan) & Grand Cote (St Palais) beaches.
Swimming
If you prefer a pool to the beach, the nearest is at Cozes. Only open in the summer, this busy open-air pool is heated. A quieter option is the open-air pool at Royan's Foncillon beach, just along from the ferry.
Cycling
As well as gentle cycling on the quiet country roads around Liboulas, you can take on the more challenging off-road tracks in the area.

There are several stables & riding schools within a ten-minute radius.
Extreme sports
If you are really intrepid, Medis aerodrome at Royan is a renowned centre for skydiving. You can take a tandem jump as taster or sign up for a longer course. Or just opt for a drink or ice cream at the bar and watch the action!
Microlight trips and lessons are available at Corme Ecluse near Cozes - these often pass over Liboulas.
